Sally started dancing at age 3 by attending her first Ballet class and she was hooked straight away. She soon added Modern, Tap, Acrobatics and Jazz to her list of disciplines and has achieved all her ISTD Jazz Awards and Major exams in ISTD Ballet, Modern and Tap.
As a teenager Sally was selected for the Northern Associates programme which was a fantastic opportunity to train with professional dancers from a range of backgrounds including the English National Ballet and the Royal Ballet School.
Here, as well as ballet, she studied National, Professional Repertoire and Greek.
Sally studied Contemporary Dance at St Mary's College as part of her A Levels and achieved a Grade A in both Dance and Performance Studies and won her college Dance Award. The video of the dance Sally choreographed for her exam was later used by the awarding body as an example of how to gain full marks.
From the age of 14 Sally helped in classes at her dance school and later went on to teach classes and exam lesson in Ballet, Modern and Tap as she gained her teaching qualifications and a degree in Performing Arts from Salford University.
Sally's first love has always been teaching dance and so since having children Sally decided to take the plunge and opened her own babyballet franchise, bringing ballet to the little ones of Oldham. Through babyballet, Sally teaches little ones from 6 months to 5 years in fun classes with lots of props, bubbles, toys and of course the babyballet mascot bears Twinkle and Teddy.
She is also registered teaching member of the ISTD in all Theatre Genres, allowing her to teach and enter students for exams in Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Tap and is currently working towards her Diploma in Dance Education (DDE).
Sally is also a qualified Assessor and trainer, has attended courses qualifying her to teach Zumba and has her Level 3 Exercise to Music and a First Aid and Emergency Response qualification.
